Earlier this fall, Nissen Staffing Continuum’s Owner and President Scott Nissen got to experience what he values most about his job: getting to know and celebrating the success of one of our temporary associates. Scott and one of our Career Consultants, Dylan, attended Wisconsin Association of Staffing Services National Employee Celebration Week’s recognition event. The theme of the event was “Rolling Out the Red Carpet for the All-Stars of Staffing.”
Our career consultant team had submitted associates that have worked with Nissen Staffing Continuum and have an amazing story of success to tell in terms of how we have benefited them in their working careers. NSC chose our associate David to represent our company at this event. David is a polite man with a gentle demeanor and as Dylan, David, and Scott got to know each other better, he seemed to feel more at ease and was ready to enjoy the day.
Dylan stood before a crowd of 70 individuals working in the staffing industry to share a bit about David. David had moved to our area to try to be closer to his family. His options seemed limited and he didn’t even have transportation. When he came into our office, he was willing to do anything, he just wanted to work and he needed someone to work with him. Dylan was able to place him in a job close to his home to meet his short-term needs and months later, Dylan heard from David again. He was getting back on his feet and was ready to pursue a more permanent role. With a base of established trust, he was ready to allow Dylan to market his extensive machine maintenance experience. Dylan was able to place him in a role making more than double than he started at and our client couldn’t be happier with his work. Dylan describes David as humble and full of gratitude. He is a hard worker with excellent skills, and now, he is exactly where he was meant to be. Dylan did a great job sharing David’s accomplishments and what makes him a great associate. Dylan’s pride was obvious and David knew that his hard work did not go unnoticed.
As the event was about to conclude, David asked Scott for copies of the pictures that they took so he could share his accomplishment and the day’s events with his family and friends. In that moment, the total culmination of the event stirred many emotions as many thoughts came to mind, thoughts of pride, joy, faith, hope, celebration, reflection, belief, caring, respect, awesomeness, and greatness. Had David ever received this type of recognition in his professional life? We may never know. But what we do know is that on THAT day, NSC was part of doing something special for a person the way we know best: making sure our associates know that we value and care about them as professionals and people.
